AI Quant Researcher – Stocks, Crypto & Multi-Asset (Kuala Lumpur, on-site) About us QuantumLink builds AI-driven systematic trading strategies across US equities, crypto and other liquid markets. We're a small, fast-moving research team where ideas go from hypothesis to live testing in days, not quarters. The role We're looking for a hungry, creative quant researcher who uses AI as their main tool for finding and testing edges in the markets. We care far more about what you've built, traded and figured out than about how many years you've held a formal title. What you'll do - Generate, test and kill strategy ideas across stocks, crypto and other asset classes. - Use LLMs, AI agents and machine learning to speed up research: data exploration, feature discovery, backtesting and code generation. - Build and run rigorous backtests and walk-forward tests, with honest checks for overfitting and bias. - Dig into market microstructure, catalysts, flows and alternative data to find edges others miss. - Work closely with the trading and engineering team to take strategies from research into live execution. - Write up clear findings, including the ideas that didn't work. Who you are - You're genuinely involved in the markets: you trade, run your own strategies, or have spent serious time studying how markets behave. - You have a financial background, through study, work or deep self-learning, and you understand risk, drawdowns and position sizing. - You're very well versed in AI and use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or agent frameworks every day to solve hard problems faster. - You can code in Python; SQL or C++ is a plus. - You're a creative problem-solver who can show us something you built, broke and fixed. - You're hungry and self-driven, and you'd rather ship and learn than wait for instructions. Nice to have - A personal trading record, GitHub repo, Kaggle results, or a research write-up you're proud of. - Experience with crypto markets, DeFi or on-chain data. - Familiarity with backtesting platforms such as RealTest, QuantConnect or your own framework. Details - Location: Kuala Lumpur, fully on-site (no hybrid). - Start: Immediate. - Pay: MYR 6,000 – 9,000 per month.
