Business Unit Head, Derivatives Business - Crypto

Our client is a top-tier global cryptocurrency exchange, with a retail user-centric core and a leading position in the crypto market. We are now seeking a seasoned **Head of Derivatives** to drive the end-to-end development, optimization of the product system and innovation breakthroughs. This role reports directly to the CEO and oversees a cross-functional team of professionals spanning trading, product design, engineering, and business development, with a singular focus on delivering retail-focused derivatives products and driving sustainable business growth. **Job Location: Hong Kong, Kuala Lumper or Abu Dhabi.** **Core Positioning** Reporting to senior executives, this core leadership role owns the **end-to-end performance, strategy and global expansion** of Bybit’s global derivatives and multi-asset trading business (serving institutional & advanced retail clients). The incumbent drives business growth, shapes product direction, and solidifies the platform’s leading global position, with full P&L accountability. **Core Job Responsibilities** 1. **Global Business Governance** : Define and execute long-term growth roadmaps for products/markets/client segments; align cross-functional teams (Product, Liquidity, Risk, Technology, Regional). 2. **P&L & Market Share** : Own trading revenue, volume growth, cost efficiency and profitability; build performance frameworks to expand global market share. 3. **Product & Market Leadership** : Evolve the derivatives ecosystem (perpetuals, options, advanced solutions); ensure industry-leading competitiveness in liquidity, execution, pricing and user experience; convert market structure changes into scalable business opportunities. 4. **Institutional & Liquidity Development** : Deepen global partnerships with institutional traders, prop trading firms and market makers; strengthen liquidity networks and trading infrastructure; boost institutional participation in key verticals. 5. **Global Expansion** : Drive regional growth strategies for mature/emerging markets; collaborate with regional, Risk and Compliance teams for sustainable expansion. 6. **Team & Culture** : Build and lead high-performing global teams (trading ops, BD, analytics, growth); foster an execution-focused culture of speed, ownership and accountability. **Core Requirements** - 10+ years of leadership experience in derivatives, electronic trading, exchange or multi-asset trading businesses. - Proven track record of scaling global trading/market businesses with **direct P&L responsibility** . - Expertise in derivatives market structure, liquidity dynamics and trading system architecture. - Experience operating in fast-paced/regulated international trading markets. - Strong commercial acumen, operational execution ability, and entrepreneurial leadership (scalable, fast-paced operations). - Executive presence to influence technical, commercial and leadership stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience at top global exchanges, trading venues or institutional trading firms. - Digital asset/electronic trading market background. - Multilingual proficiency (advantageous).
