Director of Product Design - Web3

Our client is a leading global digital asset exchange headquartered in Asia. They are trusted by tens of millions of investors and traders worldwide. They are now looking for Director of Product Design to lead the Web3 team.

**Scope**

As Director of Product Design you inherit a large team of about 30 and have a hands-on product/UX, experience in web3 as a super-user, particularly concrete, execution level examples within DeFi (e.g., interoperability challenges, abstraction layers breaking down, and how user risk is addressed in practice). There is an exciting roadmap and certain challenges they are looking to bridge in DeFi.

**Who You Are**

You might not have worked in a crypto company but you are a superuser who is using their talents in the trad-fi space. The degen in you has you exploring the more deeper parts of crypto. You have personal experience in trading, moving assets from wallet to wallet, or trading on a range of different centralised and decentralised exchanges or marketplaces. You experimented on everything including providing LP and bridging assets across different ecosystems.

**Successful Applicants**

- Minimum 10 years of design experience and 5 years in a senior management or organisational leadership role
- Proven track record in scaling, leading, and managing global design teams, including managers, senior leaders & individual contributors.
- Deep expertise in product design, design systems, and branding, with the ability to set a high bar for quality and efficiency.
- Extensive experience managing cross-regional, cross-functional stakeholders, and cross-cultural teams, with strong cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and team-building skills — able to drive vision while empowering teams.
- Web3 native – deep understanding of the domains & crypto-native user behaviours, DeFi mechanics, and wallet ecosystems.
- Bilingual communication abilities is highly desirable (English, Mandarin) – essential for interfacing with global teams, Product Management leaders, and Design across HQ and international markets.
