You will: - Work across the full stack, building highly scalable, distributed solutions on Swarm that champion user empowerment and create tangible positive outcomes. - Develop cutting-edge features, dApps, and NPM Javascript libraries that enhance the Swarm ecosystem, focusing on user experience, privacy, and resilience. - Take ownership of new initiatives, guiding projects from optimistic conceptualization to robust deployment within the decentralized landscape. - Ensure the performance, uptime, and scalability of our decentralized applications, upholding high standards for code quality, security, and sustainable design. - Embrace agile methodologies, contribute to open collaboration, and continuously explore new possibilities within the Web3 and Swarm space. **Key Responsibilities:** - Shepherd the complete software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and ongoing maintenance of decentralized applications and libraries. - Contribute to the design, analysis, implementation, and testing of robust, secure, and user-centric software built for the decentralized web. - Guide the development process, ensuring code quality, effective automated testing, and clear communication. - Architect and implement end-to-end systems optimized for the unique challenges and opportunities of decentralized environments like Swarm. - Develop primarily using React, TypeScript and JavaScript, creating reusable NPM libraries and engaging front-end experiences for dApps. - Collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers across time zones, fostering a supportive and innovative remote work culture using tools like Slack, GitHub, and video calls. **Skills and Qualifications:** - At least two years of experience building large-scale software applications (Web2 or Web3). Applicants demonstrating 4+ years of experience and a track record in complex system design are preferred. - Proven experience building modern web applications. - Experience designing, building, and integrating APIs (RESTful or other paradigms). - Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React; familiarity with backend languages (like Go or Rust) is a plus. - Excellent debugging, optimization, and problem-solving skills. - Experience with unit/integration testing frameworks. - A genuine passion for decentralization, user data sovereignty, and the potential of Web3/Swarm to build a better internet. **Preferred Skills:** - Direct experience building decentralized applications (dApps) or contributing to Web3 projects. - A strong interest in exploring and mastering new tools, languages (like Go or Rust, used in Swarm's stack), workflows, and the core philosophies driving decentralization. - Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code in a decentralized context. - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
